Rev Dr Matthew S. Farabow
Senior Minister
The Rev. Dr. Matthew S. Farabow is a native of Thomasville, North Carolina, a graduate of Westchester Country Day (1986), Guilford College (B.S., 1990), Duke University (M.Div., 1996), Drew University (D-Min 2012). He completed a Doctor of Ministry degree with his project emphasis on Congregational Growth and Development Through Missional Outreach.
Matt began his ministry here in July, 2010. His previous appointments were: Pastor, Shiloh UMC, Lexington, 2004-2010; Baltimore UMC in East Bend, 2001-2004; and Associate Pastor at Centenary UMC in Winston-Salem, 1996-2001. In addition his field education placements were at Cold Springs UMC in Concord, Dana-Upward UMC's/Camp Tekoa in Hendersonville, NC, and Murphy Circuit One in Murphy, NC. He also served on the staff of the Congregation at Duke Chapel on the campus of Duke University for two years.
Matt has also been Adjunct Professor in both the Religion and Non-Profit Studies departments at High Point University.
He is married to Amanda, and they have four children, Sydney, Jordan, Kenton, and JT. For fun, Matt enjoys exercise, playing and coaching soccer, fly fishing, relaxing on the water and reading.

Rev Jeffrey Martin
Minister to Older Adults
Rev. Jeffrey Martin is a native of Nebraska. Jeff has a B.S. from Western Illinois University, a Master of Arts from the University of Nebraska, and a Master of Divinity from Duke University. Prior to serving at Christ UMC, Jeff was the pastor at Level Cross and Ebenezer United Methodist Churches. Jeff and his wife Caren have three wonderful sons, Andrew, Ben, and Sam.
Jeff enjoys hiking and camping in addition to a number of other outdoor activities. He joined the CUMC Staff in the Fall of 2010.

Jennifer Gee Jennifer
Director of Music Ministry
Jennifer Gee is a native of North Carolina and graduated from Rockingham County High School. She currently leads all of the Music Ministries for Worship. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Music from East Carolina University and a Masters of Music from Louisiana State University. She has an amazing voice and wonderful worship leadership skills. Jennifer and her husband, Matt, have one beautiful daughter Peyton Elizabeth and a son Carter born in the summer of 2016. Jennifer joined the staff at Christ UMC in the summer of 2012

Peggy Shepherd
Organist/Accompanist
Peggy Shepherd was raised in the High Point area, graduated from High Point Central, and received an degree in English from High Point University. Peggy taught senior English for 30 years in the Guilford County School system and retired from her position in 1999.
Before joining Christ United Methodist, Peggy served as organist/pianist/chancel choir director at Oakdale Methodist and organist at Vickery Chapel. Earlier, she served as organist at First Baptist Church in Jamestown. She has served as musician for some 40 years.
Peggy studied piano and organ for 12 years and flute for 4 years. In addition to accompanying the chancel choir, she also directs the Christ Ambassadors, (an all male singing group) and the Joyful Sounds(a rhythm band) and periodically works with the College Street Jazz Band.
Peggy is married to Buster Shepherd and they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. She loves music and enjoy a wide variety of music styles including gospel, contemporary, and traditional.Peggy believes music is a most powerful instrument of the Holy Spirit and helps to comfort us in times of need and inspires many to reach for higher means of service.

Carol Briley
Director of Through the Week Ministies
Carol Briley has been an active member of Christ United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She has been involved with many of the ministries of the church through the years including Children’s Council, Higher Education, leading Christ Care Groups and Disciple Bible Study and teaching Sunday School to children and adults. She has enjoyed participating in many mission projects including Appalachia Service Project, Operation Christmas Child and Open Door Shelter.

Cindy Annan Cindy
Director of Preschool
Cindy joined the Christ UMC ministry team in July of 2013 with the merger of Christ UMC Preschool and Oakview UMC Preschool. Cindy has been involved in ministry with children for over 35 years and brings a wonderful spirit and loving heart to our programs.
Cindy and her husband, Dave, have been married for 35 years and have seven wonderful children.

Carolyn Wright
Administrative Assistant
Carolyn has been the Administrative Assistant at Christ UMC for over sixteen years. She is married to James Wright and they have 3 wonderful children: Cheree, Jennifer and Anna and 9 grandchildren. Carolyn manages the front office of the church, publishes the newsletters and bulletins, and shares many other responsibilities at Christ UMC.

James Wright
Facilities Manager
James has been the Manager of Facilities and Grounds at Christ United Methodist in High Point for over 15 years. He manages the facilities, works on upkeep, and maintains the grounds for the church. James has been married to his lovely wife, Carolyn and they have 3 children, and 9 grandchildren.

Dinah Farrington Dinah
Financial Secretary
Dinah Farrington comes to Christ UMC after a number of years in accounting with a small local business. Financial Secretary of Christ United Methodist Church overseeing the Church business. Her responsibilities include contributions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. She is a wonderful woman of faith and she brings a wonderful joy to our staff.
