Christ United Methodist Church invites you to be part of this active community of Christian worship, fellowship and service.
On Sunday mornings, we have an informal servce at 9:00 in our fellowship center.
The dress is casual, the music is contemporary, the words are projected on a screen; a message is preached; coffee, juice and doughnuts are available before and after the service; child care is available for younger family members...we finish around 9:45 or so. If you're on the go or you like a more casual service, the PRAYZ service may be just for you!
At 9:45 a.m. we have classes and groups for all ages. Children, youth and adults enjoy fellowship, friendship and study. We call it "Sunday School" and we value learning about the Bible, supporting one another, sharing our faith, and doing service for the church and community. Our volunteers or staff members can help you find your way to a class...adults, try several out over time...it's your choice. We have a variety of groups of all ages for adults. Children and youth meet with age-appropriate classes.
Our 11:00 service is a traditional service.
Our 11:00 service includes choral music, organ, congregational singing, the pastor's message and prayer. It usually lasts an hour. When we serve communion, everyone is welcome to participate.
We hope that you will find a place at Christ United Methodist Church. We worship God as disciples of Jesus Christ, wanting to serve the hopes and needs of our community and world. We do so in a variety of ways. With special ministries for children and youth, fellowship groups and service projects for adults, we have a lot of people involved! We welcome you too!
Some of our programs include: pre-school and after-school programs for children, Sunday evening youth groups, Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for children, Appalachia Service Project for youth and adults, summer day camp for children, "Young at Heart" fellowship group for senior adults....in these ways and more, we welcome you to Christ United Methodist Church!
More than anything, we hope that you will know how much God loves you, and that you will come to know Christ as Savior through the inspiration of the Spirit and being with others!
