Stephen Ministry
Our "Stephen Ministry" is a team of trained caregivers who are available for one-on-one confidential conversation and support for persons in our congregation and community. Each caregiver has undergone 50+ hours of study for this ministry. To consider if a Stephen Minister might be helpful to you, call the church office at
889-4777 for the team coordinator's contact information. No one else will know who is receiving Stephen Ministry support except the coordinator and the assigned caregiver.

Christ Caring for People through People
Christ United Methodist Church is proud to be one of 9,000 Christian congregations worldwide who are enrolledwith Stephen Ministries St. Louis. Stephen Ministry is a care-giving ministry provided by specially trained laypersons. Stephen Ministers are selected, trained, and supervised by Stephen Leaders to provide effective, distinctively Christian care. Stephen Ministers “walk alongside” people who are, for example, lonely from being “shut in,” facing chronic illnesses, going through a divorce, grieving the loss of a loved one, or adjusting to the birth or adoption of a child. They “bear one another’s burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). Stephen Ministers are named after St. Stephen, one of the early church’s first deacons (servants) commissioned by the apostles to care for the needs of the people in the Christian community.
